Does anyone have knowledge of Speedex tractors? I am looking at a one year old Speedex tractor loader with 20 HP Briggs & Stratton engine with 48" belly mower. I would like to know about the company, reliability of tractor, any information would be helpful. Thanks, Paul in NH.

If you go to www.speedex.com, you'll find everything you need to know about Speedex. The tractor you just described sounds like the one that's on Ebay. I own a Speedex 1722 [17 HP] with a homebuilt FEL. I take care of it but when it's time to work I don't baby it. In 5 years of ownership I haven't had any problems ....

Thanks cjatdan, Yes that is the one I am talking about. I didn't know if it was a good deal. This is a relisting of the same tractor. It is a long way to go for me to buy it though. I went to the website and it was informative. I don't see alot of info out there anywhere else though. I really need something a little older and less expensive. I only have a small lot that I want to landscape and keep up. Paul ....

It's a good deal except for the location and competition, Kubota's, Deere's, etc. If you find one locally, it would be worth looking at. Last week a 17 horse Speedex with a lot of implements was advertised in the local classified for $500.00. It was sold in a few hours. Good Luck with your tractor searching. Carl ....

Have you considered a NEW Chinese Diesel Tractor? you might take a look. Several companys offer them starting at under $4,000. Of course that dosn't include implements...
They really are not bad for the money! Check out www.ctoa.net. Lots of info and links to dealers. ....

I went to a consignment sale the first weekend of May. In among the treasures was a brand new 25 HP 4x4 chinese tractor with FEL. It didn't draw much interest and was sold for $6,000. In contrast a 1983 Kubota 4x4 B6100 with FEL and only God knows how many hours went for $4,600. Who got the better deal? I don't know. Until the chinese tractors have been around for awhile, and I can talk to a few people that own them, then I can draw a conclusion.
P.S. Northerntool sells the chinese tractors, their warranty
is a " Limited 6-months parts and labor warranty". ....
